The world has changed. I got "old", kids wear Kurt Cobain T's although they weren't born when he died, and Pro-Ana forums ban people who share tips with others or look for fasting buddies. In almost every set of board rules in the "scene" you can smell the do-gooders... and I wonder why that happened. For me it's elementary to talk with others about how to solve this or that problem (which is receive a tip / get to know a trick). It's elementary to look for buddies to motivate one another when you've again hit the rock bottom.Why is this proscribed nowadays?
Why did all these people who formerly were members of Pro-Ana Nation or whatever now pretend to be the big saviours of all?
Why all this lecturing?
What's left of "pro ana"? An empty word?

Pro Ana Nation was one of the best forums ever. I really do miss it. A new generation of ANAs came up, it seems. A bit brainwashed by the media - or uber-carefull?

i'm sorry you don't still have a place. i thought there were still old school pro forums out there. i was old school back in the day- my first and second go rounds with ana, maybe like 2001-2004 or somewhere in there. when i came back after trying to recover last year i wasn't looking for an old school site so i was delighted that there were ana-lite sites everywhere. but if i'd been looking for the old type of site i'd have been pretty pissed off!
i think reading between the lines of what forum admin have said there was a lot of fear about legal stuff and sites being shut down. but damn! if terrorists and nazis have places then i don't see why there shouldn't be any old school pro ana sites out there.
i absolutely feel you on this subject. i know i was only 16 or so when i discovered the pro ana sites like Stick Figures and others, but since then (2000) they new sites really have changed. it's just strange seeing 14 years olds talking about how they're "ana" b/c they eat less than 1200 cals a day once in a while but mostly binge and have bmi's of 25. give me a break! those girls need hobbies--they do NOT have eating disorders, they have issues and need friends.

I was also looking to see if I could find any info about Terri and what happened to Pro-Ana nation. It was up when I went into the hospital a while ago, and gone when i got out. Anybody know? Did she keep in touch with anyone outside the site? I miss it a lot, but I also want to know if she is ok! She was so much a part of why that site was just so awesome, and I think a lack of mods like her is why there are now so many shitty sites out there.
